What Has YCP Done For North Andhra In 5 Years Of Its Rule, Asks Lokesh
Visakhapatnam: Minister for Education, IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh on Sunday came down heavily on the previous YSRCP Government stating that in its five-year rule the party did noth-ing for North Andhra and ignored allotment of land for the proposed railway zone.
He told the media here that the TDP-led NDA Government's objective is one State-one capital and decentralisation of development.
He said as part of this, five projects are being initiated. These include laying the foun-dation for bulk drug park at Nakkapalli, green energy plant of the NTPC being estab-lished in North Andhra with an investment of Rs70,000 crore.
The Centre has sanctioned a node at KRIS City of Krishnapatnam on Chennai-Visakhapatnam industrial corridor and also allocated funds, Lokesh said and stated that lakhs of people will get employment with this node. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation for this, he added. The State Government is going to take up various projects with an investment of Rs5,000 crore and also construct different national highways while the Prime Minister will inaugurate the projects which have already been completed, he said.
Observing that the railway zone is the dream of everyone in the region, Lokesh said that the people in North Andhra want the headquarters to be located in Visakhapat-nam. This is getting delayed because the previous YSRCP government did not assign land for the purpose, the Minister noted.
Since necessary land has been allotted now by the NDA Government, the Prime Minis-ter will lay the foundation for building the headquarters here, he added. Also, the Prime Minister will lay the stone for various other railway-related works, he said.
